It’s the week of June 5th, which means a new week of reading!
This week has been a bit slow-going. I’ve come to the realization that no matter how much I try, I will still read at the same pace as I have the past couple of months just because of life priorities. However, what I’m currently reading and what I have plans to read coming up do give me a lot of excitement, so let’s take a look at those!
Currently Reading
During this week, I started and have continued reading one title:
-
The Loophole by Naz Kutub (Physical ARC)
- This ARC was gifted to me by the publisher for the purpose of providing an honest review and preparing early selling points as a part of my in-person book-selling job.
I am currently a part of Naz’s street team for his upcoming debut The Loophole, so I thought I would start reading it in preparation for its release on the 21st! So far, I am absolutely loving it. Naz’s writing style is unique and entrancing, and I love Syeed as our main character. This book has a lot of ups and downs, and it makes you just want to reach through the pages and hold Syeed’s hand in support of him. There are so many moments, thus far, that have hit close to home, and I find that to be both a bit intimidating and really special.
Future Reading Plans
While I do still have hopes to get through my TBR (which can be found here), here are the books that I am looking to pick up in the coming days.
-
Bloody Spade (The Cardplay Duology, #1) by Brittany M. Willows (Digital ARC)
-
Café con Lychee by Emery Lee (Digital ARC & Physical Copy)
I have the exciting opportunity to read Brittany M. Willow’s Bloody Spade, and I am so thrilled. A co-worker (from another store) has been hyping this book up since its release, so I cannot wait to share my thoughts on it with y’all.
I am also very eager to read Café con Lychee, as I have been wanting to read this book since its publication announcement. The story sounds so intriguing, and I’ve heard so many good things about it. I know I’ll love it even before reading it, so I cannot wait to start.
